Samsung has launched its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy M17 5G, in India. It’s the successor to the Galaxy M16 and arrives with a fresh design, AI-powered features like Circle to Search and Gemini Live, and Samsung’s promise of long-term software support.
Samsung Galaxy M17 Specification
The Galaxy M17 5G is built to handle everyday use with an IP54 rating, which means it’s safe from dust and accidental water splashes. On the front, you get a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display that can go as bright as 1,100 nits, making outdoor viewing hassle-free. Samsung has also added Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the back panel for extra durability.
Inside, the phone is powered by Samsung’s 6nm Exynos 1330 processor, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It runs on the latest Android 15 with One UI 7, bringing a clean and customisable experience. Perhaps the biggest highlight is Samsung’s commitment to six years of OS and security updates, which is rare in this price range.
Camera System
For photography, the Galaxy M17 5G offers a triple rear camera setup:
-
50MP main camera with OIS for stable shots
-
5MP ultrawide lens for capturing more in one frame
-
2MP macro lens for close-up details
On the front, there’s a 13MP selfie camera that also works well for video calls.
Battery and Extra Features
A 5,000 mAh battery keeps things running, with 25W fast charging support. Samsung has also added some useful software touches like:
-
Knox Vault for security
-
Voice Focus for clearer calls
-
On-device Voice Mail, so callers can leave you a message if you miss their call
