Royal Enfield is moving steadily toward its long-awaited electric debut. The company has confirmed that its first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, will officially arrive in India before April 2026. Ahead of that launch window, the bike has been spotted testing once again—this time on the streets of Chennai, looking closer than ever to a production-ready model.
Developed locally at Royal Enfield’s Chennai facility, the Flying Flea C6 will mark the brand’s entry into India’s growing electric motorcycle segment, where it will compete with models such as the Ola Roadster X, Revolt RV400, and Oben Rorr Sigma EZ.
An Urban-Focused Electric Motorcycle
Royal Enfield has designed the Flying Flea C6 specifically as a city commuter, setting it apart from the Flying Flea S6, the off-road-oriented scrambler that the company showcased at EICMA 2025.
A recently shared Instagram video shows the C6 undergoing road tests in Chennai. The motorcycle appears to wear only partial camouflage and features alloy wheels, round mirrors, and a compact overall stance. The footage also shows the test rider pushing the bike at full throttle, hinting that performance tuning is in its final stages.
This sighting comes after earlier tests in Ladakh, where the C6 was evaluated in cold-weather and high-altitude conditions alongside the S6 scrambler. Both bikes sit on the brand’s new “L” electric platform, though each uses different components and styling to match their intended riding environments.
Key Features and Expected Technology
The Flying Flea C6 is expected to offer two ride modes—Eco and Sport—aimed at balancing efficiency and performance.
Notable hardware and tech features include:
-
19-inch alloy wheels
-
Retro-style round LED headlamp
-
Dual-channel ABS
-
Forged aluminium Girder front fork
-
Coloured digital touchscreen display with Bluetooth, navigation, voice commands, and OTA updates
At the heart of the motorcycle is the Qualcomm Snapdragon QWM2290 processor, integrated with Royal Enfield’s in-house Vehicle Control Unit (VCU).
One of the latest test mules showcased a single-seat setup, confirming that the pillion seat will be removable. Braking is expected to be handled by disc brakes on both wheels.
Battery and Performance Expectations
Royal Enfield has not yet disclosed exact battery specifications. However, the Flying Flea C6 is believed to use a fixed battery with fast-charging support.
In terms of power, the bike is expected to deliver performance comparable to a 350cc petrol motorcycle, making it suitable for both daily commuting and occasional highway rides.
Industry estimates suggest a real-world riding range of 150 to 200 km on a single charge, positioning it as a practical electric option for city riders.
