Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has officially launched its latest flagship smartphones — the Redmi K90 Pro Max and the Redmi K90 — in China. The Pro Max takes the spotlight with Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a giant 7,560mAh battery, and a Bose-tuned 2.1-channel stereo speaker system. It also brings a dedicated D2 display chip to handle its massive 6.9-inch OLED screen.

Redmi K90 Pro Max: Key Specifications

The Redmi K90 Pro Max runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Its 6.9-inch OLED display offers 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500 nits peak brightness, and Wet Touch 2.0 support for better usability in wet conditions.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.

On the camera front, the phone carries a triple 50MP setup — a main sensor with OIS, a periscope telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom, and a ultrawide lens. It also supports 8K video recording.

Powering it all is a 7,560mAh battery with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse charging. For connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Redmi K90: Key Specifications

The standard Redmi K90 also runs on HyperOS 3 but uses a 6.59-inch OLED display. Unlike the Pro Max, it comes with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

It supports up to 16GB RAM, and features a camera setup including a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens.

The device is backed by a 7,100mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. Connectivity options remain the same as the Pro Max.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi K90 Pro Max is priced from CNY 3,999 (around ₹49,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The top version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 5,299 (around ₹65,000).

The standard Redmi K90 starts at CNY 2,599 (around ₹32,000) and goes up to CNY 3,999 (around ₹49,000) for the 16GB + 1TB model.

Both smartphones are now available in China. The Pro Max comes in Denim, Golden White, and Black, while the K90 is offered in White, Black, Aqua Blue, and Light Purple.

The Bottom Line

With the Pro Max focusing on raw power, display quality, and long-lasting battery, and the standard K90 offering flagship-level features at a lower price, Redmi is aiming to cover both premium and value segments in its home market.
