Realme is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphones — the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro — in China on October 21. Ahead of the event, the company has already confirmed some exciting details, especially around the battery, display, and cameras.
Bigger Battery, Faster Charging
The Realme GT 8 Pro will pack a massive 7,000mAh battery, a big jump from the previous model. Despite the larger size, the phone is slimmer at 8.20mm thick. Charging won’t be an issue either:
-
120W wired charging (50% in just 15 minutes)
-
50W wireless charging
-
Bypass charging for gaming while plugged in
Smooth Display and New Software
On the front, the phone features a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring sharp visuals and ultra-smooth performance. Security is handled by an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The device will ship with Realme UI 7, based on Android 16.
Camera System Gets Serious
The cameras are one of the biggest highlights. The GT 8 Pro comes with a Ricoh-certified 50MP main sensor with OIS, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a whopping 200MP sensor, rumored to be Samsung’s HP5.
On the video front, the phone will support professional-grade recording, including 4K at 120fps with Dolby Vision. Adding a twist, Realme has introduced a swappable camera module design, allowing users to physically change the layout of the lenses.
Flagship Performance
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, combined with Realme’s own R1 chip for better graphics and efficiency. Buyers will get options of up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.
