OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition will launch in India alongside the regular OnePlus 15R. This new version will be the third colour option in the lineup, joining Charcoal Black and Mint Green. Although the Electric Violet Ace Edition has a different look on the outside, it shares the same internal hardware as the standard model.
Availability and Design
According to OnePlus, the 15R Ace Edition will be available in India through Amazon and the official OnePlus website. The phone will be unveiled on December 17, together with the regular OnePlus 15R and the new OnePlus Pad Go 2.
The Ace Edition stands out with its fiberglass back panel, which includes a special coating and an “Ace” textured imprint. This design matches the Electric Violet colour used on the OnePlus Ace 6T in China, which launched on December 3. Many industry watchers believe the 15R Ace Edition is essentially a rebranded version of that Chinese model.
Display and Camera
Although the back design is unique, the inside is the same as the standard OnePlus 15R. The Ace Edition features a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen offers 450PPI pixel density, a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and can dim all the way down to 2 nits for comfortable low-light viewing.
For photos and videos, the phone uses OnePlus’s DetailMax Engine, the same computational photography system found in the flagship OnePlus 15. It also supports Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and Clear Night Engine for sharper and clearer images in different lighting conditions.
Processor and Connectivity
Inside, the smartphone will be the first to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, a chipset co-developed by OnePlus and Qualcomm. It will also include a G2 Wi-Fi chip and a dedicated Touch Response Chip to improve network stability and touch performance. More details are expected to be shared during the launch event on December 17.
