Recent leaks suggest that Motorola could be preparing something new and slightly unexpected. The company may be working on a fresh smartphone that does not follow its usual naming pattern. According to leaked images shared by a trusted tipster, Motorola appears to be developing a device called the Motorola Signature. This is interesting because earlier reports hinted that the same phone might launch as the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra. The new leak now points toward a possible rebranding strategy.
The leaked renders offer a clear look at the phone’s design, color options, and some of its standout features, giving us a better idea of what Motorola might be planning next.
Design and build details
The images, shared by well known tipster Evan Blass, show a phone that looks very similar to what we expect from the Edge 70 Ultra. On the back, the Motorola Signature features a square shaped camera module that houses three camera lenses along with an LED flash. The rear panel appears to have a textured finish, with the Motorola logo placed neatly at the center.
As per the leak, the phone could launch in at least two color options called Carbon and Martini Olive. The overall design looks premium, and the frame is expected to be metal. All the physical buttons including the power key and volume controls are placed on the right side, while the left side remains clean. Visible antenna lines on the sides and bottom suggest strong connectivity support.
Camera and display expectations
Camera performance is likely to be one of the highlights of the Motorola Signature. The leaked images mention the use of a Sony Lytia sensor, along with optical image stabilization and Dolby Vision support. If this device shares specifications with the rumored Edge 70 Ultra, it could feature a triple 50 megapixel camera setup consisting of a primary sensor, an ultrawide camera, and a periscope telephoto lens.
On the front, the phone is shown with a centered hole punch cutout for the selfie camera. Previous leaks around the Edge 70 Ultra suggest a 6.7 inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which should deliver a smooth and sharp viewing experience.
Performance and chipset
In terms of performance, Motorola seems to be aiming high. The phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process. This would place the Motorola Signature firmly in the flagship category.
For now, Motorola has not officially confirmed the device name, specifications, or launch timeline. However, the consistency between these new leaks and earlier reports makes the Motorola Signature look like a very real and premium addition to Motorola’s upcoming lineup.
