The Indian smartphone market may soon see a new addition in the ultra-slim category. Fresh leaks suggest that the Motorola Edge 70 is preparing to launch in India, following its earlier debut in select global regions. While the international variant has already been showcased, new reports indicate that the Indian version will come with a few notable differences — particularly in battery capacity and overall design.
Rumored Launch Timeline and Design
Tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) has claimed that the Motorola Edge 70 could arrive in India around December 15. The phone is expected to be Motorola’s response to the growing lineup of ultra-thin smartphones, taking cues from the Moto X70 Air, which launched in China in October. Just like its Chinese counterpart, the Indian model is also rumored to feature an incredibly slim 5.99mm profile.
This puts the device in direct competition with other super-slim phones like the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air. Unlike the global version, which already packs solid hardware, the Indian variant is said to sport a refreshed design and a larger battery — an important upgrade given the usual compromises with ultra-thin devices. Leaked images hint at color options including light green, dark green, and black, each featuring Pantone validation, highlighting Motorola’s focus on style and accurate color reproduction.
Specifications and Possible Pricing
The Motorola Edge 70 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. On the camera front, leaks point to a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup, promising strong imaging performance. The phone may also include wireless charging, adding to its premium feel.
Pricing, however, is where things get interesting. Globally, the device is priced at GBP 700 (roughly Rs. 80,000) in the UK and EUR 799 in Europe. In India, though, the strategy appears to be very different. Reports suggest the phone could launch for under Rs. 35,000, a price segment where competition is aggressive and demand is high. For context, the Motorola Edge 60 currently sells at Rs. 25,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model.
If Motorola delivers this hardware at such a competitive price point, the Edge 70 could quickly become one of the most attractive options in the sub-40K category.
