It looks like Motorola is preparing to launch the Edge 70 Fusion sooner than we thought. A new listing on Geekbench has popped up, giving us a pretty clear look at what the phone can do. If the numbers are accurate, the device is getting some serious upgrades under the hood, including a battery that is significantly larger than what we are used to seeing in this price range.

Performance and the Processor Mystery

The Geekbench listing—first spotted by a tipster—shows the phone hitting a single-core score of 1,215 and a multi-core score of 3,186. It was tested running Android 16 with 12GB of RAM.

But the real story is the processor. While earlier rumors pointed to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, the clock speeds in this test (with a prime core running at 2.71GHz) suggest it might actually be the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. If true, this would be a nice generational leap, giving the phone enough power to handle heavy apps and gaming without breaking a sweat.

A Battery That Won’t Quit

The biggest headline, literally and figuratively, is the battery. Leaks indicate the Edge 70 Fusion will pack a massive 7,000mAh cell.

For context, most phones in the mid-range category stick to 5,000mAh. A jump to 7,000mAh means this phone could easily last two days on a single charge for many users. It is also expected to support 68W fast charging, so you won’t be stuck at the wall outlet for long when you do need to top up.

Display and Durability

Motorola isn’t cutting corners on the rest of the hardware, either. The phone is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 1.5K resolution and a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate.

On the durability front, reports mention an IP68 and IP69 rating, plus MIL-STD-810H certification. In plain English: this phone should be tough enough to handle water, dust, and accidental drops better than most of its fragile competitors.

Market Context

If Motorola pulls this off, the Edge 70 Fusion could be a serious problem for rivals like the Samsung Galaxy A-series or the Redmi Note lineup.

Right now, the mid-range market is crowded, but very few phones offer a battery this big combined with a high-end display and military-grade durability. It seems Motorola is moving away from just making “slim” phones to making phones that are actually practical for heavy daily use. We expect an official announcement to drop in the coming weeks.
