According to the official report, the car scored 20.86 out of 34 points for adult occupant protection, while child occupant protection stood at 28.57 out of 49 points. As per the test results, the frontal impact test showed decent protection for the head and neck. However, the driver’s chest was subjected to a slight impact, though no major injury was reported.

Protection for the driver’s knees was rated as marginal, while the passenger’s knees showed adequate protection. That said, the footwell area and bodyshell were found to be unstable, indicating structural concerns. In the side impact test, the head and pelvis areas provided good protection. Meanwhile, the abdomen and chest were rated under weak protection. As for the side pole impact test, it is yet to be conducted.

When it comes to child occupant safety, both the 3-year-old and 18-month-old child dummies were able to prevent head exposure during the frontal impact test. This resulted in full protection in that particular test scenario.

The crash test model was equipped with essential safety features, including dual front airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, load limiters, ABS, ESC, a seatbelt reminder, and a speed alert system. Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz comes at the starting price of Rs 9.9 lakh (ex-showroom).  However, it can not be purchased in Indian now as the model has been discontinued.
