Maruti Suzuki has been teasing its e-Vitara for years. The company has already shared most of the important details on multiple occasions. Even on December 3, a production-ready version was showcased, pushing the launch date further. However, despite keeping the vehicle away from the market for now, the company has managed to share its Bharat NCAP safety rating.
Maruti e-Vitara 5 Stars Bharat NCAP Rating
As per the details shared by the brand, the Maruti e-Vitara has achieved a full 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. With this, the model becomes the fourth offering from the brand to secure a full safety score after the Victoris, Dzire, and Invicto.

According to the crash test results, the model received 15.49/16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, and 16/16* points in the side deformable barrier test. When it comes to the Child Occupant Protection (COP) rating, the e-Vitara scored 12 out of 12* points.
The crash test was conducted at a decent speed, and the 3-year-old child dummy did not experience a major impact, remaining in a safe position. However, a detailed observation sheet for the test has not been released yet. The exact impact analysis for the child dummy’s head, neck, chest, and other body areas remains unknown.

Maruti e-Vitara Expected Launch
Despite all the positive numbers, one big question remains unanswered—how long will Maruti Suzuki take to finally release the model in the market? No official launch date has been announced, and even the price bracket is a big mystery. However, some reports suggest that the EV might hit the market in early 2026. It is likely to be priced between **₹20 lakh and ₹25 lakh** (ex-showroom).
Under the hood, the e-Vitara is equipped with a 61.1 kWh battery pack. The company claims it will deliver a certified range of up to 543 km on a single charge. As far as competition is concerned, once officially launched, it will go up against the futuristic Mahindra BE.6, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
