Eyewear giant Lenskart is taking a big leap into wearable technology. The company is reportedly opening up its upcoming smart glasses platform, “B by Lenskart,” to India’s developer community — inviting creators and consumer app developers to build India-specific experiences for the new device.

Stepping Into the Wearable Tech Game

With “B by Lenskart,” the brand is officially entering the fast-growing world of AI-powered wearables. The goal is to combine stylish eyewear with smart, connected features that blend seamlessly into daily life. Early reports suggest that these glasses could offer real-time notifications, voice commands, and camera-assisted features — giving users an entirely new way to interact with digital information.

In Testing, Launch Expected by Late 2025

According to sources, Lenskart has already been testing early prototypes with a small group of users to refine the experience before launch. If all goes according to plan, the commercial rollout could happen by the end of 2025, marking one of the first major Indian entries in the smart glasses category.

Bringing Developers Onboard

Lenskart isn’t going it alone. The company reportedly plans to make its AI and camera tech available to third-party developers — including popular consumer apps like Zomato, Swiggy, and BookMyShow, as well as independent creators. This open ecosystem could allow integrations across everything from food delivery and fitness tracking to navigation and entertainment.

Powering the Experience

Under the hood, the smart glasses are expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, paired with a Sony camera sensor. The device may also include a Google Gemini-powered AI assistant, wellness insights, live translation, and even UPI payment support, making it a genuinely all-in-one wearable experience.

A Market Ripe for Growth

Lenskart has not yet made an official statement on these developments, but the move comes at a time when global interest in smart glasses is surging. Industry experts estimate that the global smart glasses market could reach $4–5 billion by 2030, growing at nearly 30% annually. Within that surge, India is expected to be one of the fastest-growing markets, driven by local innovation and accessibility.

If successful, Lenskart’s “B” platform could position the company as not just an eyewear brand, but a major player in India’s wearable tech revolution.
