iQOO is all set to launch its next flagship, the iQOO 15, in China on October 20. Ahead of the big day, the company has not only revealed its first self-developed gaming GPU – the Q3 chipset – but an early unboxing video has also given fans a closer look at the phone’s design.
A Closer Look: Design and Unboxing
AnTuTu recently shared an unboxing video of the iQOO 15 Legend Edition on Weibo, confirming several design changes. The back panel now looks flatter than its predecessor, and the LED lights have been shifted to encircle the rear camera module, giving it a fresh, standout look.
True to iQOO’s collaboration with BMW, the phone continues to flaunt the brand’s signature racing-inspired color accents. On the front, there’s a punch-hole display, while the sides feature metallic edges for a premium feel.
At the bottom, users will find the USB-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM tray neatly aligned. Powering the phone will be 100W fast charging, ensuring top-ups are quick and convenient.
The Q3 Gaming GPU: iQOO’s Big Move
The highlight of the iQOO 15 is the brand-new Q3 gaming GPU, touted as the world’s first self-developed smartphone gaming chip. It works in tandem with iQOO’s QNSS super rendering engine to deliver console-like graphics on a handheld device.
Built on an ultra-low power process, the Q3 chipset enables advanced graphical effects, while staying energy-efficient.
Performance Upgrades
In terms of real-world gaming, the Q3 brings several key features:
-
Super resolution upscaling games to 2K
-
Ultra-frame support delivering up to 144fps
-
Ray tracing capabilities for realistic lighting and shadows
According to iQOO, the new chip doesn’t just improve visuals — it also pushes raw performance. The company claims a 60% performance boost, 40% better power efficiency, 50% stronger memory optimisation, and an impressive 400% jump in AI computation when paired with the main processor.
