Apple has introduced the new iOS 26.1 update, a month after officially releasing iOS 26 to iPhone users. The new update brings a few security fixes and new nifty features, including the ability to change the Liquid Glass design. Here’s a look.

iOS 26.1: What’s New?

iOS 16.1 primarily lets people change the appearance of the Liquid Glass Design and choose between “Clear” and “Tinted” options. As the name suggests, Clear would result in a transparent look while Tinted will make the appearance opaque. To enable this, users can go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Liquid Glass.

Other changes include,

  • The ability to disable the “swipe-to-camera” control on the Lock Screen. This will stop users from accidentally accessing the camera from the lock screen. For this, users can head to Settings > Camera and disable the “Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera” option.
  • The Live Translation feature for AirPods will now support new languages, such as Chinese (Mandarin, simplified and traditional), Italian, Japanese, and Korean.
  • Apple Intelligence will now support new languages: Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
  • The Alarms app got a new, small yet handy feature to swipe to stop the alarm.
  • The Accessibility section now has a new “Prefer single-touch actions” option to replace the sliding actions on the screen.
  • There’s a new option to disable haptics when a phone call is taken or ended. Users can go to Settings > Apps > Phone and disable the Haptics option.

Other changes include the ability to automatically install security updates, a new video scrubbing bar, and more.
