Instagram has introduced the ability to view Reels Watch History, a minor yet useful feature. This will help you find a Reel you loved watching but forgot to save. The feature is now available, and here’s how you can access it.
How to See Reels Watch History on Instagram
Adam Mosseri announced Instagram’s Reels Watch History feature via a recent Reel. It is expected to work like the existing Watch History feature available on YouTube and Instagram’s rival, TikTok. The section will show the watched Reels in a neatly arranged setup, making it easier to find the one you are looking for.
To access your watch history on Instagram,
- Select the hamburger menu in the top right corner of your Instagram profile.
- Tap the ‘Your Activity’ option.
- Scroll down a bit to find the ‘Watch History’ option under the ‘How you use Instagram’ section. There, you will find all the Reels you have viewed.

You will be able to filter the Reels by dates, authors, and newest to oldest (or oldest to newest). You can also delete the Reels from the watch history.
This new Instagram feature will definitely give respite to people who had to opt for workarounds (such as downloading the entire data or following the liked posts) to view Reels watch history. This is another way to make the Reels experience better, for it is arguably the app’s highlight.
