Instagram often brings new updates and features to its platform to level up the user experience. Again, it is back with another feature, which will allow Indian users and creators to dub their reels in a total of five Indian languages. With the help of the latest feature, the users will be able to post reels with perfect lip-syncing visuals using AI-powered voice translation. This will enable creators and users to reach a wider and more diverse audience.
Instagram’s New Indian Languages Feature
While confirming the development, the platform stated that it is rolling out support for a total of five Indian languages. With this update, it will now support Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu, ensuring the content can be consumed without any language barrier across multiple regions. The announcement for the same was first made in November 2025. After being tested for a considerable period, it is now being rolled out to users and creators in the country.
Instagram claims that dubbed videos will appear highly realistic rather than robotic. This has been made possible through a blend of cutting-edge technology and Meta AI. It will preserve the original tone and speaking style of the creator and present it on the platform. Even the pitch and emotions will be maintained to ensure a natural and authentic viewing experience.
Instagram’s New Feature
As far as the lip-syncing part is concerned, the AI can accurately transform videos by perfectly matching the speaker’s mouth movements. To make content creation more convenient for Indian creators, the platform will also introduce new Indian fonts in the Edits application. This will allow creators to insert text and captions in languages such as Devanagari, Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and Marathi.
The font update is not available as of now. However, it is expected to roll out any time soon for Android users.
