Honor is gearing up for its next big launch in China on October 16, where it will officially unveil the Honor Magic 8 Pro and Honor Magic 8. Ahead of the event, the company has confirmed some impressive details about the Pro model’s camera, performance, and software.
A Powerful New Telephoto Camera
The Honor Magic 8 Pro is set to make headlines with its 200MP telephoto camera, which uses a large 1/1.4-inch sensor and a wide f/2.6 aperture. Image processing will be handled by the AIMAGE Honor Nox Engine, promising detailed and vibrant photos.
What really stands out is the inclusion of CIPA 5.5-stop image stabilisation — the first of its kind in the industry. This advanced stabilisation tech is designed to cut down blur from shaky hands and allow for much clearer shots even at slower shutter speeds, making zoom photography more practical than ever.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Magic 8 Pro will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor. Buyers will have plenty of choice too, with variants offering up to 16GB RAM and a massive 1TB of storage.
On the software front, both the Magic 8 Pro and the standard Magic 8 will ship with MagicOS 10, bringing new AI-driven features and a polished UI right out of the box.
Rumored Design and Display
Although Honor hasn’t officially revealed the design yet, leaks suggest the Magic 8 Pro could feature a symmetrical look with a quad-curved display and a matching curved back panel for a sleek in-hand feel. The screen is also rumored to come with a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera system, similar to the previous generation.
