Hero MotoCorp’s electric arm, Vida, is stepping on the throttle in the EV space. The company has unveiled a series of new electric concepts that showcase its vision for the future of mobility — from urban commuters and off-road motorcycles to futuristic micro-mobility solutions designed for city life.
The Vida Ubex Concept: Urban Exploration, Electrified
Leading the showcase was the Vida Ubex Concept, a name inspired by the word “Urbex” (urban exploration). The Ubex is a city-focused electric motorcycle that blends the fun and agility of a supermoto-style design with everyday practicality.
According to Vida, the Ubex emphasizes comfort and nimble handling, making it ideal for navigating crowded urban streets while still retaining a sporty, adventurous edge. It’s a clear signal that Vida wants to redefine what an electric commuter can feel like — not just efficient, but exciting too.
Collaboration with Zero Motorcycles: Performance EVs Incoming
One of the biggest announcements was the Vida VXZ, developed in collaboration with Zero Motorcycles, the California-based EV performance specialist.
While Vida hasn’t shared full details yet, the partnership hints at a powerful new direction — combining Hero’s scale and design with Zero’s advanced powertrain technology. This could mark Hero’s entry into the performance-oriented EV motorcycle segment, an area still wide open in India.
Expanding the Vida Dirt.E Range
Vida also expanded its Dirt.E lineup, introducing two new electric off-road bikes that show how the company is thinking beyond city roads.
-
Vida Dirt.E K3: A kids’ electric dirt bike inspired by the earlier Acro concept, designed for riders aged 4 to 10. It features an adjustable wheelbase and riding position, allowing the bike to grow with the child — a clever and thoughtful touch for young enthusiasts. The model is expected to launch in India soon.
-
Vida Dirt.E MX7: A full-size electric dirt bike built with a lightweight carbon-fibre frame, clearly aimed at serious off-road riders. With this model, Vida is staking its claim in the electric adventure segment, a niche that’s just beginning to take shape globally.
Enter the Future: The Vida Novus Sub-Brand
Perhaps the most futuristic showcase came from Vida’s newly announced sub-brand, Vida Novus, which is focused on reimagining urban mobility.
-
Vida Nex 1: A backpack that transforms into a compact electric scooter, designed for quick, last-mile commuting — yes, you can literally wear your ride.
-
Vida Nex 2: A three-wheeled electric scooter offering extra stability and agility, blending convenience with innovation.
-
Vida Nex 3: A tiny electric city car, signaling Hero’s ambitions to go beyond two-wheelers and enter the micro-electric vehicle market.
This trio showcases Hero’s willingness to experiment with new mobility formats that could redefine short-distance travel in dense urban environments.
Vida VX2 Heads to Europe
Alongside the concept lineup, Vida confirmed that its production electric scooter, the Vida VX2, is gearing up for its European debut. Pre-bookings are now open, with deliveries expected to begin soon.
The Bigger Picture
With these announcements, Hero MotoCorp’s Vida is clearly positioning itself as more than just a two-wheeler brand — it’s shaping up to be a mobility innovator. From city scooters and off-road machines to futuristic foldable EVs, the company is exploring every corner of electric mobility.
If these concepts make it to production, Vida could very well redefine what it means to ride electric in India — and beyond.
