Recent reports suggest that Google is getting very close to launching the Pixel 10a. The phone has now cleared Verizon’s certification process in the US, which usually happens right before a device goes official. This filing also gives us an early look at the expected hardware. The Pixel 10a will replace the Pixel 9a, which arrived earlier this year in March.
Pixel 10a Specifications and Features
A screenshot shared by well-known tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) shows details from the certification documents. Based on this information, the Pixel 10a seems to stick with many of the core features of the Pixel 9a.
The phone is expected to come with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution. The screen may also support a variable 120Hz refresh rate that shifts between 60Hz and 120Hz for smoother use.
On the camera front, Google is likely continuing with a familiar dual-camera setup. The main sensor is tipped to be 48 megapixels with an f/1.7 aperture. This will reportedly be paired with a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 119.7-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, the phone is listed with a 13-megapixel front camera.
Performance and Hardware
The certification hints at a reliable mid-range configuration. The Pixel 10a may offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, along with a sizable 5,100mAh battery for long-lasting use. Connectivity includes 5G support and LTE Cat 19.
Although the listing does not confirm the processor, leaks suggest the phone could run on Google’s Tensor G4 chipset. The display is also rumored to reach a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. Another important point is software support. Reports indicate that with Samsung’s involvement in the supply chain, Google may offer up to seven years of updates, which would match the best in the industry.
Design renders show a look similar to the Pixel 9a. As for pricing, early estimates place the starting price around 499 dollars, making it a strong option in the mid-range category.
