Google Photos has expanded its pool of AI-backed features with six new ones. The primary highlight is the integration of Google’s Nano Banana image-generation tool, which was announced for Gemini quite recently.

Google Photos New AI Features

With Nano Banana, Google Photos can now edit your photos in any way you want. Just open an image, tap the “Help Me Edit” option, and describe the changes you want. So, restyling an image or following all the Gemini trends on Instagram will become a lot easier.

Here are the other helpful and fun features coming to Google Photos:

  1. Create with AI: This option, powered by Nano Banana, will provide AI image templates to help you instantly create trending images. This will be available under the Create tab for Android users in the US and India this week. Additionally, you will soon get personalised templates (starting with the US), which will pick data from your gallery to create images customised for you.

  1. Ask Button: You can now ask questions about an image, using the new Ask button, which provides more context.
  2. The Ask Photos option, which helps you find a specific photo in your gallery, is now reaching 100 new countries and 17 new languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and more. You can learn more here.
  3. Personalised Edits: Google Photos will now help you make edits to an image by using the “Help me Edit” feature and typing the required changes. For this, Google Photos will use other photos in a person’s face groups to accurately make the edits.

  1. The ability to edit a photo using your voice or text is coming to iOS in the US. Google is also rolling out the redesigned photo editor to iOS users.

These new Google Photos features will be available soon, so do give them a try.
