Zomato, India’s popular food ordering platform, has undergone a change of heart. And name.
Company CEO Deepinder Goyal announced a new name for Zomato Ltd, the parent company.
The proposed name is Eternal.Ltd, as Goyal revealed to the media
Eternal Ltd. will be a parent company for all the services that Zomato.Ltd had controlled
That means Eternal Ltd. will house Zomato, Blinkit, District and Hyperpure under its umbrella
The Zomato Ltd. board has approved the new name for the company, Goyal expects the shareholders to approve the same.
“When we acquired Blinkit, we started using “Eternal” (instead of Zomato) internally to distinguish between the company and the brand/app,” says Goyal.
“We also thought that we would publicly rename the company to Eternal, the day something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of our future. Today, with Blinkit, I feel we are there,” he adds.
So watch out Swiggy, Zomato is Eternal (pun intended).
