Canon has officially lifted the curtain on its latest full-frame mirrorless camera — the EOS R6 Mark III. Designed for both photographers and videographers, this new model aims to strike the perfect balance between high performance and versatility. As the successor to the popular EOS R6 Mark II, the R6 Mark III brings several major upgrades, most notably a 32.5-megapixel sensor and support for 7K video capture.

Power and Performance

At the heart of the Canon EOS R6 Mark III is a brand-new 32.5MP full-frame sensor paired with Canon’s improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. The autofocus now gets smarter, capable of registering and tracking a person’s face more reliably whether you’re clicking photos or recording videos.

For fast-action shooters, the camera still offers burst speeds of up to 12fps with the mechanical shutter and up to 40fps with the electronic shutter — similar to the previous generation but with noticeably longer continuous bursts thanks to faster internal processing.

Video Capabilities and Connectivity

Videographers are in for a treat. The R6 Mark III can shoot in 7K RAW at up to 60 frames per second and 4K at 120fps, opening up new creative possibilities. Canon has also added Canon Log 2 and custom picture profiles, giving creators more flexibility when color grading or editing in post-production.

Other thoughtful touches include a tally lamp (a small indicator light) that clearly shows when recording is in progress — a small but useful addition for solo creators and vloggers.

Connectivity has also received a much-needed boost. Canon has replaced the older Micro HDMI port with a full-sized HDMI Type-A port, ensuring a more secure and professional-grade connection during shoots.

Design and Storage Upgrades

Canon has tweaked the storage setup this time around. Instead of dual SD card slots, the R6 Mark III features one CFexpress Type B slot and one SD slot. This combination enables faster data transfers and high-bitrate recording, though it also means users will need to handle two different card types.

Pricing and Availability

The Canon EOS R6 Mark III will be available starting November 25, 2025. The body-only version is priced at $2,799 (around ₹2.33 lakh). Canon will also offer two kit bundles — one with the RF 24–105mm STM lens for $3,149, and another with the RF 24–105mm L lens for $4,049.

A New Lens Joins the Lineup

Alongside the R6 Mark III, Canon has introduced a new lens — the RF 45mm f/1.2 STM. Priced at $469.99, it’s designed as a compact, affordable choice for photographers who love shooting in low-light environments.
