Powertrain Options:
The facelift retains the same engine lineup:
1.2-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol (88 HP): Available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed DCT.
1.2-litre Bi-Fuel (CNG): Producing 74 HP, paired with a 5-speed manual.
1.5-litre Diesel Engine (90 HP): Remains the only diesel engine in this segment, mated to a 5-speed manual.
While there’s no confirmation yet, Tata might eventually offer the 120 HP 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Altroz Racer in the facelifted version.
Safety Remains a Strong Suit
The Altroz continues to be one of the safest hatchbacks in India. It has been awarded 5 stars for adult occupants and 4 stars for child safety by the Global NCAP. Six Airbags are now standard on all variants, making it a standout in safety compared to rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20.
Notably, the Baleno scored 0 stars in the Latin NCAP (2021), and the new version is yet to be tested. The Hyundai i20 scored a 3-star rating in crash testing by GNCAP.
Variants and Expected Pricing
The 2025 Tata Altroz will be offered in five trims: Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S. Pricing is yet to be announced, but it is expected to be slightly higher than the current model’s Rs. 6.65 lakh to Rs. 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom) range.

Rivals: How Does the New Altroz Stack Up?
The Altroz facelift continues to go head-to-head with: Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and the badge-engineered Baleno, also known as Toyota Glanza.
With new features, updated styling, and an impressive safety package, the 2025 Altroz is poised to offer better overall value and appeal than its rivals, especially for those prioritising fresh design and safety.
What Do We Think?
The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift is more than just a cosmetic update. With refreshed styling, modern features, and a strong safety record, Tata has given its premium hatchback the tools to stay ahead in a fiercely competitive segment. Whether it’s better than the Baleno or i20 will come down to pricing and consumer priorities, but one thing is clear: the new Altroz is now a more complete and compelling package than ever before.
