Eicher Pro 2049: Eicher’s Light Commercial Vehicle

The Eicher Pro 2049 is one of the most feature-loaded light commercial vehicles in the segment, as well as, in India. This homegrown truck which falls under light commercial vehicle (LCV), is among the bestselling Eicher trucks.

Eicher Pro 2049: Proportions and Threshold

The Eicher Pro 2049 has load body dimensions of two types, depending on the variant chosen. That said, it has two variants: L10 and L12. The L12 has a load body dimension of 3658mm by 2011mm, while the L10 has 3177mm by 1873mm. In fact, these two variants have a different wheelbase. The L12 has a wheelbase of 3370mm, while the lower variant has 2580mm. 

Besides that, this vehicle also has an adequate ground clearance, rated at 190mm, which is quite practical for Indian roads. Speaking of practicality, the Eicher Pro 2049 also offers a choice of 7-inch or 7.5-inch wide tyres, alongside standard 16-inch wheels. However, the standard tyre profile is 225/75 R16. 

Eicher Pro 2049: Specifications

This homegrown truck is powered by a 2.0-litre E366, three-cylinder diesel unit, which is tuned to pump out 100bhp at 3200rpm and 285Nm of peak torque between 1250-2500rpm. This capable yet fuel-efficient engine sends power to the wheels via the ET 30S5 type five-speed manual transmission, complemented by a 280mm diameter clutch. 

It has a top speed of 120km/h. 

Moreover, like other trucks, the Eicher Pro also stands on semi-elliptical leaves with ARB telescopic shock absorbers at the front, which is tuned for a comfortable ride experience. The same suspension setup is at the rear. At the same time, the Eicher Pro truck is equipped with disc brakes on all wheels, which translates to a superior braking performance. 

 For convenience, this vehicle has a turning radius of 13.1m in the L12 variant, while the L10 variant has a 10m turning radius. These tyres can be moved via the hydraulic power steering wheel which has tilt and telescopic functions. 

The Pro 2049 truck has a fuel tank capacity of 60 litres, coupled with a 27-litre AdBlue compartment to reduce emissions. 

Eicher Pro 2049: Features

In this department, the Eicher Pro 2049 has a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster which shows all the relevant readings, driving mode (called MBooster+), and cruise control. At the centre of the dashboard, this truck also has a touchscreen infotainment display that can be controlled via steering-mounted buttons. 

Further, this commercial vehicle has a mobile holder, a bottle holder, and an overhead storage compartment. Interestingly, its cabin can also be cooled with low NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels. Lastly, the seats are adjustable as well.
