Asus brought its biggest guns to CES 2026, revealing a completely updated lineup of gaming laptops and a massive desktop that projects holograms. The new ROG Zephyrus series now runs on Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 chips and features Nvidia’s powerful RTX 50-series graphics cards.
G14 and G16 Get a Power-Up
The popular Zephyrus G14 and G16 laptops are keeping their sleek aluminum bodies but getting much faster on the inside. The 14-inch model can now handle up to an RTX 5080 graphics card, while the larger 16-inch version goes all the way up to an RTX 5090.
Both laptops feature stunning OLED screens. The smaller G14 uses a sharp 3K display, while the G16 opts for a faster screen that refreshes 240 times a second—perfect for competitive shooters. They also come with the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 for faster connections.
Two Screens Are Better Than One
The unique Zephyrus Duo 16 is back, and it still features a secondary screen built right into the keyboard deck. This time, however, both the main screen and the bottom screen are matching 16-inch OLED panels.
Designed for streamers and creators who need extra workspace, the Duo 16 also packs the top-tier RTX 5090 GPU and faster storage options than its smaller siblings.
A Desktop with Holograms
The most unusual announcement was the ROG G1000 desktop. It features a special fan called “AniMe Holo” that projects customizable moving images inside the glass case.
Aside from the light show, it is a serious performance machine. It uses a massive liquid cooling system to keep temperatures down and can be configured with the most powerful graphics cards available, including the Nvidia RTX 5090 or AMD Radeon 9070XT.
Market Impact & Context
Asus is aggressively pushing the new RTX 50-series chips, ensuring its laptops are ready for the next generation of games. Putting such powerful graphics into the small 14-inch G14 is a notable engineering feat, as cooling high-end chips in small bodies is difficult.
The switch to OLED screens across the board is also a major win for consumers. OLED panels offer better colors and deeper blacks than traditional screens, and Asus is making them the standard for its premium laptops.
Pricing and Availability
Asus hasn’t shared price tags or release dates yet. However, given the high-end specs, expect these machines to command a premium when they launch later this year.
