The popular Renault Duster is set to make a comeback in India, and the automotive industry is already buzzing. Renault has officially announced that the next-generation Duster will debut in India on January 26, 2026. The SUV once enjoyed a strong fan following, and the company is now aiming to re-establish its presence in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment dominated by models like the Hyundai Creta.<\/p>\n
The upcoming model isn\u2019t a facelift\u2014it\u2019s a complete redesign. Renault has confirmed that the new Duster will not share any mechanical parts or design elements with the earlier version.<\/p>\n
The SUV will be built on a localized version of the CMF-B platform, jointly developed by Renault and Nissan. Manufacturing will take place at the company\u2019s Oragadam plant in Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n
The new Duster also plays a crucial role in Renault\u2019s International Game Plan 2027, which focuses on strengthening the brand in emerging markets. At present, Renault\u2019s SUV lineup in India relies mainly on the Kiger. The new Duster is just the beginning, with a three-row SUV and an affordable urban EV also planned for the future.<\/p>\n

At the back, the SUV features a shark-fin antenna, a notched rear spoiler, and a sharply angled rear windshield. The tail lamps are expected to follow the same Y-shaped lighting pattern seen on the front.<\/p>\n
Globally, the new Duster is offered with multiple engine choices. These include:<\/p>\n
\u2022 1.2L turbo-petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 128.2 hp
\u2022 1.6L strong-hybrid petrol, paired with two electric motors and a 1.2kWh battery, delivering 138 hp
