Honda is gearing up for a major transformation in the Indian market. The company plans to launch up to 10 new cars by 2030, and while it will continue offering mass-market models, Honda is now placing fresh emphasis on premium vehicles. One of the most exciting models in Honda\u2019s new lineup is the return of the iconic Honda Prelude. Discontinued globally in 2001, the sporty coupe is set to make its India debut in the first half of 2026. It will be Honda\u2019s first modern two-door car for the country and is expected to be priced around Rs 80 lakh.<\/p>\n
Unlike the track-focused Civic Type R, the new Prelude is designed as a comfortable and accessible grand tourer. It uses Honda\u2019s e:HEV hybrid setup that combines a 149 hp 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with electric motors. Together, they produce 200 hp and 315 Nm, enabling the Prelude to accelerate from 0 to 100 km\/h in under 7 seconds.<\/p>\n
For India, Honda is fine-tuning the hybrid system for E20 fuel and adapting suspension components for local road conditions. Inside, the coupe gets a clean, driver-focused cabin with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch Google built-in touchscreen infotainment system.<\/p>\n
Towards the end of 2026, Honda is expected to introduce the ZR-V hybrid \u2014 a sporty crossover that sits below the CR-V internationally. The model stands out with a polygonal front grille, sleek LED DRLs, and a coupe-like sloping roofline. The dual exhausts at the rear add to its athletic character.<\/p>\n
Powering the ZR-V hybrid is a 2.0-litre Atkinson engine paired with two electric motors, delivering a combined 184 hp through an e-CVT transmission. It also comes with AWD. With an estimated starting price of Rs 50 to 60 lakh, the ZR-V could serve as a practical yet premium choice for Indian buyers who want something more distinctive than a typical mid-size SUV.<\/p>\n
The most premium model in Honda\u2019s upcoming portfolio will be the Honda 0 \u2014 a futuristic, all-electric SUV based on the brand\u2019s next-generation 0 Series EV architecture. It is expected to arrive in mid-2027 and will mark Honda\u2019s strongest push into the high-end electric segment.<\/p>\n
The Honda 0 features clean, aerodynamic styling, pixel-inspired lighting, and a concept-like silhouette. Although technical details are yet to be confirmed, the SUV could pack an 80-100 kWh battery offering a real-world range of about 500 km. Prices are expected to cross Rs 80 lakh, positioning it as Honda\u2019s new flagship in India.<\/p>\n
