Honor could soon make headlines with a smartphone packing an enormous 10,000mAh battery, if recent leaks are to be believed. The device is also rumoured to be powered by the yet-to-be-released MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, which could make it one of the first phones to use this upcoming SoC.<\/p>\n
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the handset has already reached the New Product Introduction (NPI) stage \u2014 a key phase where a product moves from the design table towards mass production. While the official name isn\u2019t confirmed, industry chatter suggests it might debut as the Honor Power 2.<\/p>\n
In a post on Weibo, the tipster claimed that Honor\u2019s new Dimensity 8500-powered phone will feature a battery capacity close to 10,000mAh. While other specifications remain under wraps, the fact that it\u2019s in the NPI stage means the project is past the early design phase and is moving towards real-world testing and production.<\/p>\n
Reports suggest this phone could succeed the Honor Power, which launched in April 2025 with an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Earlier hints from the same tipster suggested that a China-based OEM was working on a 10,000mAh battery smartphone that would still be under 8.5mm thick, and it seems this new Honor model could be it.<\/p>\n
If true, it would mark a big jump in battery capacity without adding significant bulk \u2014 a rare combination in today\u2019s smartphone market.<\/p>\n
Honor isn\u2019t alone in chasing the big-battery crown. Reports also indicate that Xiaomi\u2019s Redmi brand is developing a handset with a battery capacity between 8,500mAh and 9,000mAh.
