The company is preparing to launch the new Magnite Kuro Edition, a bold, stylish twist on its only car currently on sale in India — the Nissan Magnite. This updated version brings back the fan-favourite Kuro Edition treatment, adding an all-black design to one of India’s most affordable sub-compact SUVs.

What’s New on the Outside?

The 2025 Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition will be based on the top-spec Tekna Plus variant and brings a bunch of dark-themed upgrades. Expect to see a blacked-out front grille, a fresh black skid plate, and new darkened headlamp elements. The bumpers are likely to remain the same, but the rest of the styling gets a makeover that’s hard to miss.

On the side, you’ll find stylish black alloy wheels and black roof rails, completing the all-black vibe. Altogether, the design gives off a much sportier and aggressive appearance — a look that should appeal to buyers looking for something more premium in the budget SUV space.

All-Black Interiors to Match

Step inside, and the black theme continues. The cabin of the Magnite Kuro Edition is expected to feature black seats with contrast stitching, a black roof liner, black sun visors, and even darkened door trims, handles, and AC vent surrounds. It’s clear that Nissan is going all-in on the black aesthetic — inside and out.

In terms of features, nothing is being taken away. The Kuro Edition will carry the same equipment list from the Tekna Plus variant. That means you’ll get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker premium audio system, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, and rear AC vents — everything you’d want in a top-end variant.

Engine Options Remain the Same

Under the hood, there are no changes. The 2025 Magnite Kuro Edition will continue to offer two petrol engine choices.

The first is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 71–72 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The second option is a more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 99 bhp and 152 Nm of torque. This engine comes with both 6-speed manual and CVT transmission options — ideal for those who enjoy a bit more punch while driving.

Who Will It Compete With?

Once it hits the market, the new Kuro Edition will take on several strong rivals in the compact SUV segment, including the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kushaq, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Currently, the Nissan Magnite is priced between ₹6.14 lakh and ₹11.92 lakh (ex-showroom). With all the blacked-out upgrades, the Kuro Edition is expected to cost about ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 more than the standard version.

With the 2025 Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition, Nissan India is clearly targeting style-conscious buyers who want something that stands out. The all-black theme — from the blacked-out front grille to the black alloy wheels and blacked-out cabin — gives the Magnite a fresh identity without compromising on performance or features.

If you’re planning to buy a sub-compact SUV that looks premium without breaking the bank, this might be one worth waiting for.

If you’re a fan of sleek, blacked-out cars, you’re going to want to keep an eye on Nissan India this month.
