You will have to pay ₹1,09,999 for the OPPO which comes with 16GB RAM and a lot of storage space. Apple wants much more money for its iPhone 17 Pro since it starts at ₹1,34,900 for the base 256GB model. This is a lot of money for a mobile phone, but both brands are promising the best tech you can find today. You should read this carefully before you spend your hard earned money on these luxury devices.

Build and Design

The phones are out. The OPPO Find X9 Pro is a very big phone that weighs 224 grams and it feels solid in your hand. Apple uses Ceramic Shield 2 for protection against cracks if it falls. I find smaller phones much easier to use while walking. The OPPO holds an IP69 rating.

This means the iPhone can handle strong water jets. To be honest the iPhone is very easy to hold when you only have one hand free. The iPhone has a weight of 206 g. The iPhone can even go down to 6 meters deep, in water. This is deeper than what the OPPO can do.

OPPO weighs 224 grams and uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

iPhone weighs 206 grams and feels more compact.

OPPO has an IP69 rating for high pressure water.

Apple uses a titanium frame for a premium feel.

Display Quality

Look at the screen. For your daily entertainment, OPPO offers a 6.78 inch LTPO AMOLED display that comes with a resolution of 1272 x 2772 pixels. You get a 6.3 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display from Apple. The OPPO screen is 3600 nits very bright, in fact.

This helps you see the phone clearly under the bright afternoon sun in Delhi. Apple reaches 3000 nits. It has a special coating that stops light from bouncing off the glass. Both phones use 120Hz tech. This makes scrolling feel very smooth and fast.

OPPO screen size is 6.78 inches.

Apple screen size is 6.3 inches.

OPPO brightness hits 3600 nits.

Both support 120Hz refresh rates.

Both phones are faster than your laptop. I tested this by opening fifty apps at once and neither phone slowed down at all.

Performance and Hardware

The chips are fast. OPPO runs on the Mediatek Dimensity 9500 chipset which is built on a very small 3nm process for high speed. The iPhone uses the A19 Pro chip with six cores. Basically, the iPhone is the king of speed for single tasks. But the OPPO has 16GB of RAM. This helps you keep many apps open at the same time. ColorOS 16 is the software on the OPPO. Apple uses iOS 26. OPPO promises five major Android updates for this model. You get 512GB storage on the base OPPO. Apple starts at 256GB.

OPPO uses Dimensity 9500 and 16GB RAM.

Apple uses A19 Pro and 12GB RAM.

OPPO storage starts at 512GB for ₹1,09,999.

Apple storage goes up to 1TB for ₹1,74,900.

Camera Systems

Photos look very sharp. OPPO has a giant 200MP periscope lens that lets you zoom into objects that are very far away from you. Apple uses a 48MP periscope lens for photos. Honestly, the Hasselblad colors on the OPPO look very natural. (I love how it makes skin tones look in daylight). The iPhone is better for video. It supports ProRes and 3D spatial video. If you are a social media star, you might like the iPhone better. The OPPO selfie camera is 50MP. Apple uses an 18MP front sensor.

OPPO has a 200MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom.

Apple uses three 48MP lenses on the back.

OPPO features Hasselblad color tuning.

Apple supports LiDAR for fast focus in the dark.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery lasts very long. OPPO put a huge 7500 mAh Silicon Carbon battery inside this phone to make sure it lasts for two days. Apple uses a 4252 mAh battery for its phone. Look, the difference is huge. You can charge the OPPO at 80W speed. Apple is much slower. It only reaches 50% in 20 minutes. (This feels slow when you are in a rush). OPPO also supports 50W wireless charging. Apple supports 25W MagSafe charging.

OPPO battery is 7500 mAh.

Apple battery is 4252 mAh.

OPPO has 80W wired fast charging.

Apple uses PD3.2 for charging.

My Verdict

I think if you hate charging your phone every night buy the OPPO. At ₹1,09,999 you get more storage and a much bigger battery than the iPhone. But if you want a phone that’s easy to hold and has the best video quality, then the iPhone 17 Pro is the way to go.

You will have to pay a lot more for it though. Honestly, the ₹1,34,900 price for the 256GB iPhone is very high compared to what OPPO offers. I would pick the OPPO for the battery alone.

The big fight for your pocket has started because the OPPO Find X9 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro are now here in India.
