Vivo and OPPO just announced their latest top tier phones and the specs look pretty wild honestly. The Vivo X300 Ultra and the OPPO Find X9 Ultra both have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor inside them. This is a 3nm piece of hardware that promises to be very fast. The two brands are trying to deliver exactly what people in India usually look for – great cameras and long battery life.
Both phones come with Android 16 right out of the box. That is quite a jump for software. Basically, you are getting the newest tech available right now.
Screen and build quality features
- Both phones have a 6.82-inch LTOP AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate
- The resolution is 1440 x 3168 pixels so everything looks very sharp.
- Vivo uses Armor glass for protection, OPPO uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
- Both are rated IP68 and IP69 so can be dunked in water and deal with dust.
Actually, the screens are nearly identical on paper. They both offer 1 billion colors and Dolby Vision. I think people who like watching movies on their phone will really like the Vivo or the OPPO. The Vivo phone is a bit thinner it is 8.2 mm thick. The OPPO phone is a little thicker it is 8.7 mm thick. It may not look like much but when you hold the phone in your hand you can feel it.
Performance and memory options
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Chip has an Octa Core processor with a clock speed of 4.6 GHz.
- It has 12GB or 16GB of RAM to choose from.
- Storage goes up to 1TB using the fast UFS 4.1 standard.
- None of these phones have a card slot, so you need to pick your storage carefully.
These phones are like powerful computers that you can carry in your pocket. The Adreno 840 GPU is really good. It can handle any game you want to play on it. You can play games, like BGMI or Genshin Impact on these phones it will work perfectly fine.
Personally I think 16GB of RAM is plenty for most folks. Even the 1TB option on the Vivo X300 Ultra has emergency SOS via satellite, but that’s only on the top-end model.
Camera systems compared
- Vivo has a 200MP main camera with a gimbal OIS and Zeiss optics.
- OPPO features a quad camera setup with two different periscope telephoto lenses.
- Both use 200MP sensors for their main wide lenses to capture a lot of detail.
- OPPO includes Hasselblad Color Calibration, while Vivo uses Zeiss T* lens coating.
The camera department is where things get interesting. Vivo uses a triple camera setup. It has a massive 200MP main sensor and another 200MP periscope lens for 3.7x optical zoom. OPPO, on the other hand, went for four cameras. There’s a 200MP main, 200MP 3x zoom and one more 50MP lens for 10x optical zoom. If you like to zoom in on things from a distance, the OPPO might be winning here.
Battery and charging details
- OPPO Find X9 Ultra packs a massive 7050 mAh battery.
- Vivo X300 Ultra has a 6600 mAh Battery.
- Both support 100W wired charging, so you can get back to full quickly.
- OPPO supports 50W wireless charging and Vivo supports 40W.
Honestly, a 7050 mAh battery in a phone is massive. Most phones in India usually have 5000 mAh, so this is a big step up. OPPO definitely wins on battery size. The 6600 mAh vivo is not bad at all, but that extra capacity just can’t be beat. If you’re a light user, both phones will probably last you two days.
Pricing and Availability Details
Vivo has already launched X300 Ultra in India and it comes in super premium bracket. The 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant comes with a price tag of ₹159,999. It is available on all major platforms such as Flipkart, Amazon and official Vivo store.
On the other side, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra is still new. It is scheduled to officially launch in India on 21st May 2026. We are expecting the final numbers, but there are reports that the 12GB/256GB model is likely to enter the ₹1,39,999 price segment.
Basically, OPPO may try to undercut Vivo a little to get more market share. You can pre-reserve the phone by buying a “Privilege Pack” on their website for ₹129 which comes with some extra goodies like earbuds and a case.
My Verdict
if I had to pick between these two, it would be a hard choice. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra wins out on battery life and zoom range with that 10x lens. “It’s a more complete camera kit for photographers.” But the Vivo X300 Ultra is a little slimmer and has that gimbal OIS which is good for video.
Both are running the fastest chip in the world right now so you are not missing out on speed with either choice. If you want the biggest battery available, go OPPO. If you want a phone that’s easier to hold and takes good video stability then the Vivo is the one.
