It is really hard to decide between the Samsung and the Motorola because both of these phones have a lot of things about them. The Samsung and the Motorola have a lot to offer so we will look at everything like the screen and the camera.

How well they work and how long the battery lasts, to help you figure out which one is best, for you and what you want to use the Samsung or the Motorola for. Motorola has gone for battery life, Samsung has gone to the extreme in terms of camera resolution and storage. There are now two different choices for those looking for a folding screen in the Indian market.

Screen Quality and Design Style

  • Motorola Razr Fold has a 8.09-inch main screen and 6.56-inch cover screen.
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is very thin at 4.2 mm and weighs 215 g.
  • Motorola offers a record 6200 nits brightness and 165Hz refresh rate on the cover.
  • Samsung uses an 8-inch screen but it is much lighter to hold in one hand.

The Motorola Razr Fold uses a big 8.1-inch LTPO pOLED main screen that looks very bright and clear under the sun. It hits 6200 nits peak brightness which is the highest in the world. Honestly, the 165Hz cover display is also very smooth when you use it for a quick chat.

Basically, Samsung is much thinner at 4.2 mm when you open it. It feels like a thin piece of glass in your hand. Samsung is easier to carry, but Motorola has a screen that stays bright in daylight.

Power Speed and Storage Space

  • Samsung Z Fold 7 uses Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16 GB RAM.
  • Motorola Razr Fold runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen5 with 12 GB RAM.
  • You get 1 TB storage with Samsung but only 256 GB with the Motorola model.
  • Both phones will get 7 years of software and security updates from today.

Samsung has a faster clock speed of 4.47 GHz and a huge 1 TB of space for your photos. You can store a lot of videos and high-quality files without ever worrying about the memory. Wait, before we get into the specs, you should know that Motorola has a very good cooling system inside.

It uses a vapour chamber to keep the phone from getting hot during long calls. Both run on Android 16 and get updates for seven years. I noticed that Motorola uses Moto AI while Samsung sticks to their Galaxy AI tools for editing.

Camera Details and Battery Life

  • Samsung has a 200 MP main camera with 10 MP telephoto and 3x zoom.
  • Motorola uses three 50 MP cameras for a more balanced photo setup.
  • Motorola has a huge 6000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
  • Samsung has a smaller 4400 mAh battery and slower 25W charging.

The cameras are different. Samsung leads with a 200 MP sensor that captures every little detail of your face or the far away hills. Motorola uses a Sony Lytia 828 sensor which has a gold rating for natural colors. I think the 50 MP telephoto on Motorola is good, but Samsung’s zoom is still better.

However, the battery is where Motorola wins easily. You get a 6000 mAh battery which is much bigger than the 4400 mAh one in the Samsung. Motorola also charges much faster at 80W.

My Verdict

I think your decision comes down to what you value more in a phone. If you want a slim and light device with the best camera and huge storage, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the winner. But you will have to pay a much higher price for that starting around ₹1,74,999.

The Motorola Razr Fold  is a beast when it comes to battery life and outdoor screen use. It begins at ₹1,49,999 and is much cheaper. It is a bit heavier, but the extra 1600 mAh battery and 80W charging makes it a better deal for most people.
