Madhav Sheth, the head of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, is facing heavy criticism from tech fans after inviting online creators to test his brand’s upcoming smartphone. This invite comes less than a month after his company, Ai+ Smartphones, got a court order to block negative reviews from popular Indian YouTube channels. In a recent social media post, Sheth asked creators to visit his office and share honest thoughts on a new phone that uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor.
The post sparked an immediate angry reaction online. Many users pointed out the company is calling this device one of the firsts in India to have the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip. However, rival brands like Tecno and Infinix already sell phones in the country with the exact same internal hardware.
Court Fight With YouTube Reviewers
The tension between Sheth and the tech community started after legal actions in late April. NxtQuantum Shift Technologies got a temporary injunction from the Delhi High Court against independent channels like TechWiser, Hardwire, TechBar, and Gyan Therapy. This court order forced the creators to delete their negative video reviews. Those videos claimed that the phones contained hidden software applications sending user data to servers in China.
The legal battle grew more serious when the Delhi High Court ordered Sheth to appear personally in front of the judge. Lawyers for the YouTubers claimed that the phone company intentionally wrote down a fake email address for the creators in court documents. The defense said that this trick prevented the creators from appearing to defend themselves on the first day of hearings. The court cautioned that it would not allow attempts to fool the legal system.
Fast Change In Brand Strategy
Critics on social media platforms like X noticed a very quick shift in how the company treats online reviewers. Many remembered how brand officials previously ignored tech enthusiasts, saying that online customer ratings on shopping sites like Flipkart were the only opinions that mattered to the business.
The sudden move to welcome creators to the company office for feedback stands in sharp contrast to the ongoing court cases. Many users on tech forums are asking how a brand can ask for honest opinions while still using a legal order to punish critical video reviews.
Phone Specifications And Features
The coming smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor, a mid-ranger built on a 6nm process. The processor is an octa-core unit with four performance cores running at 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The device also uses the Arm Mali-G610 graphics unit.
While this hardware handles daily tasks well and saves battery life, it is already common in the Indian market. Competitors use this same chip family to target budget buyers who want basic 5G connectivity and standard camera features.
Impact On Tech Reviews In India
This public dispute raises big questions about how tech companies handle criticism from independent journalists and video creators in India. Reviewers need early access to new phones to help millions of Indian buyers make good choices. Legal gag orders make creators scared to point out software bugs, performance issues, or safety risks.
Independent reviewers say that honest testing protects the everyday consumer. When brands stop this checking or punish channels that find hidden software, it hurts consumer trust. Industry experts say that fixing relationships with creators through private office invites will be hard as long as the court cases continue.
