Samsung’s next flagship lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, is still months away from launch, but leaks about the phones are already picking up pace. Expected to debut early next year as the successor to the Galaxy S25 lineup, the series will reportedly include three models: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything yet, a new leak has revealed what the camera setups on all three phones might look like.
Leaked Camera Specs for the Galaxy S26 Series
Tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) has shared the supposed camera specifications for each model via X (formerly Twitter). According to the leak, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue Samsung’s tradition of pushing camera hardware to the limit.
The Ultra model may feature a quad-camera setup, led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. This could be paired with a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, the regular Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are expected to stick with a more familiar setup. Both phones are rumored to get a triple-camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Sensor Upgrades for the S26 and S26+
These leaks match earlier reports hinting at similar camera configurations. Those reports suggested that the Galaxy S26 and S26+ could be upgraded with a new Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNG primary sensor, while keeping the Sony IMX564 ultrawide sensor from the previous generation.
The telephoto camera is also expected to get an upgrade. The new models may use a Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LD sensor, replacing the 10-megapixel S5K3K1 telephoto sensor found on the Galaxy S25 and S25+. If true, this would offer a noticeable improvement in zoom performance and image clarity.
Expected Launch Timeline
As for the launch, the timeline still isn’t fully clear. Some reports claim that Samsung could unveil the Galaxy S26 series in late January 2026, followed by an early February sale. However, another leak points to February 25, 2026, at a Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco.
