The buzz around Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting louder every day. After Rockstar teased it back in December 2023 and dropped two trailers, fans can’t stop talking about what could be the biggest game launch ever. This time, the action heads back to a modern-day Vice City, with some major firsts for the series.
Release Date and Platforms
Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will release in 2026. It will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, while the PC version will come later — just like past GTA games. On consoles, expect 30fps as the default, though reports say the PS5 Pro might offer a 60fps mode for smoother gameplay.
New Story and Characters
The game will feature two main characters, Lucia and Jason. Their storyline is rumored to follow a “Bonnie and Clyde” style partnership — a first for the franchise. Not just that, Lucia will also be the first-ever playable female protagonist in GTA history. The world will be set in Vice City but expanded into a larger state called Leonida, inspired by Florida.
Gameplay Upgrades
Rockstar is going big on realism and immersion this time. Vehicles are expected to handle more naturally, physics will feel more lifelike, and police AI will be smarter, making getaways more intense. NPCs are also being redesigned to act more realistically, making the world feel alive. Some in-game actions may even need more player input instead of being auto-triggered, adding depth to everyday interactions.
Price Speculation
While Rockstar hasn’t confirmed prices yet, leaks suggest the standard edition may cost around $100 internationally, with premium editions priced higher. PC pricing and requirements are still unknown.
