Honda has added two exciting new motorcycles to its global lineup at CIMAMotor 2025 — the CB500SF and the CBR500R Four. Both bikes are powered by an all-new 502cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that produces around 80bhp, putting them right in the sweet spot of the middleweight performance segment.
Two Bikes, Two Personalities
Honda is clearly targeting two different rider profiles with these launches.
-
The CB500SF carries a modern-classic streetfighter vibe, inspired by the legendary CB400SF. It comes with a round LED headlamp and retro-styled bodywork, making it perfect for riders who like a touch of nostalgia with modern performance.
-
The CBR500R Four, on the other hand, goes all-in on sportiness. With a fully-faired design, sharp lines, and aggressive styling, it proudly follows Honda’s CBR sportbike DNA.
Shared Platform, Honda Engineering
Underneath their different looks, both bikes share the same foundation. They ride on a diamond frame, feature upside-down front forks at the front, and a linked-type rear monoshock at the back. Stopping power comes from disc brakes with Nissin calipers, ensuring strong braking performance.
Another highlight is Honda’s innovative E-Clutch system, which makes gear shifts smoother and more convenient — a big plus for riders who want both performance and ease of use.
Where They Stand in the Market
Honda hasn’t shared a full spec sheet or global launch timeline yet. But once they hit the roads, the CB500SF and CBR500R Four are expected to rival bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R and other middleweight contenders.
While an India launch seems unlikely at this stage, these new Hondas add fresh and exciting choices for riders in international markets who are looking for a blend of performance, style, and Honda’s trusted reliability.
