The highly anticipated Google Pixel Watch 4 has surfaced in leaked renders, alongside a detailed specification sheet comparing it with last year’s Pixel Watch 3. The leaks reveal several major upgrades, particularly in display brightness, battery performance, and charging speed, positioning the new smartwatch as Google’s most advanced wearable yet.
Two Sizes With a Familiar Design
The Pixel Watch 4 will be available in 45mm and 41mm case sizes, continuing the size options from the Pixel Watch 3. The design remains true to Google’s minimalist aesthetic, featuring a round dial, edge-to-edge display, a rotating crown on the right side, and interchangeable bands. The leaked images also reveal multiple colour choices — black, silver, and a soft blue for the Pixel Watch 4 — while the Pixel Watch 3 is shown in black, silver, pink, and green.
Brighter Actua 360 Display
One of the most notable improvements is the upgraded Actua 360 display, which can reach up to 3000 nits of peak brightness. This is a significant leap from the 2000 nits offered on the Pixel Watch 3, promising improved visibility in bright sunlight and outdoor environments.
Longer Battery Life and Faster Charging
Battery performance sees a substantial improvement. The 41mm Pixel Watch 4 is rated for 30 hours of usage, while the larger 45mm variant can last up to 40 hours, even with the always-on display enabled. By comparison, the Pixel Watch 3 offered 24 hours of battery life.
Charging speeds have also been boosted. The Pixel Watch 4 supports 25% faster charging when paired with Google’s new Quick Charge Dock, reducing downtime and making it more convenient for daily use.
GPS Accuracy and Gemini Integration
The Pixel Watch 4 features dual-frequency GPS, enhancing location accuracy for activities like running, cycling, and hiking. Additionally, the watch comes with Gemini integration, Google’s AI-powered assistant platform, offering smarter voice interactions, contextual responses, and AI-driven suggestions.
Expected Launch
While Google has yet to officially announce the release date, industry expectations suggest that the Pixel Watch 4 will be unveiled alongside the Pixel 10 series at the upcoming Made by Google event. Given the improvements in display technology, battery efficiency, and AI features, the Pixel Watch 4 could be a compelling upgrade for both existing Pixel Watch owners and new buyers looking for a premium Android smartwatch.
