I’ve seen a lot of “weird” audio tech lately, but Realme just dropped something in India that’s actually practical. Say hello to the Realme Buds Clip. Unlike the usual buds that you have to shove into your ear canal, these use a “clip-on” design that sits on the outside.
Launched alongside the massive 10,001mAh Realme P4 Power 5G, these buds are all about comfort and staying aware of your surroundings while you’re out on a run or sitting in the office.
Realme Buds Clip
-
The Design: These use a “Clip” design with a flexible titanium-memory bridge. They basically just hook onto your outer ear. Each bud weighs only 5.3g. They stay secure even if you’re moving around a lot.
-
Situational Awareness: Since your ear canal stays open, you can still hear traffic or people talking to you. For durability, they have an IP55 rating. Sweat or a little rain won’t be an issue.
-
AI Features: The big highlight is the AI Translator. It handles real-time translation for over 30 languages. Interestingly, they also work directly with Google’s Gemini AI for hands-free voice commands.
-
Audio Tech: Even with the open design, these still offer 3D spatial audio. It makes the sound feel more immersive, like it’s happening all around you.
-
Battery Life: On the battery front, you get roughly 7 hours from the buds. The charging case brings the total to 36 hours.
-
Gaming & Latency: If you play games, there is a 45ms low-latency mode. It keeps the audio in sync with the screen. No annoying lag here.
-
Connectivity: These run on Bluetooth 5.4. They also support dual-device pairing. This means you can switch between a laptop and a phone without having to mess with your settings.
Price & How to Get Them
The official price is ₹5,999, but here’s a tip: if you grab them during the first sale on February 5th, you can get them for an effective price of ₹5,499. They’ll be available in Titanium Black and Titanium Gold on Amazon, Flipkart, and Realme’s own site.
My Take: Open-ear tech is finally becoming “normal.” If you’re a runner or someone who spends all day in meetings, the lack of ear fatigue alone makes these a solid buy.
Stay tuned—I’ll be doing a deep dive into that AI Translator feature as soon as I get my hands on a review unit!
