Suzuki has announced a fresh update to its iconic flagship, the Hayabusa, for the 2026 model year. The changes, revealed for global markets, focus on refining the superbike’s electronics, improving everyday rideability, and introducing new colour options. Rather than a full mechanical redesign, Suzuki has opted for thoughtful upgrades that enhance the overall riding experience while keeping the Hayabusa’s legendary character intact.

Engine and Electronics

The motorcycle continues to use the familiar and powerful 1,340cc inline-four engine, producing 190bhp and 150Nm of torque. While these numbers remain unchanged, Suzuki has updated the selectable throttle maps to improve low-end torque delivery. This means riders should experience stronger acceleration at lower speeds, making the bike feel more responsive in city traffic and more comfortable during long-distance touring.

Suzuki has also fine-tuned the electronic riding aids. The cruise control system has been upgraded so it now stays active even when shifting gears using the bi-directional quickshifter. The launch control system has also been recalibrated to enable quicker, smoother starts. In the interest of reducing weight, Suzuki has swapped out the older lead-acid battery for a lighter lithium-ion unit.

Design Changes and Special Edition

On the styling front, Suzuki has introduced a new Special Edition variant of the Hayabusa. This model features an eye-catching blue-and-white colour scheme, along with a 3D Suzuki logo and exclusive badging on the fuel tank. A rear seat cowl is also included as standard, further enhancing its sporty look.

Pricing and Availability

In the UK, the 2026 Hayabusa is priced at £18,599, which is roughly ₹21.55 lakh. Suzuki has not yet confirmed if or when the updated model will arrive in India. However, if it does make its way here, it will likely be priced higher than the current India-spec version, which sells for ₹18.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
